position summary:

An assistant broadcast producer thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and is great at keeping track of all the details. This person will be responsible for coordinating many aspects of production and execution of broadcast projects. They must be able to track multiple concurrent projects and communicate effectively. The assistant producer plays a major role in ensuring that work is completed correctly and on time, while keeping the Director of Broadcast Production and other staff members apprised.

key responsibilities:

  • Ensure appropriate personnel are informed of status updates on all broadcast projects.
  • Maintain and manage an accurate daily Production Dashboard that is shared with the Production team.
  • Establish and maintain internal project deadlines and coordinate with other departments to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Provide broadcast production assistance including securing props, talent and photo/footage acquisition.
  • Maintain responsibility for all aspects of production legality – with each step documented in the project database.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Serve as a back up for the Broadcast Production Director
  • Data entry.
  • Process vendor invoices.
  • Manage casting sessions.
  • Maintain the agency’s talent database.
  • Research and secure locations for video shoots.
  • Capable of negotiating broadcast talent, photographs, footage and location fees, etc. per project needs.
  • Adept at completing the broadcast post-production processes.
  • Coordinate freelancer tasks.
  • Schedule audio auditions and recording sessions.

knowledge and skills:

  • Macintosh operating system and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated effective writing and speaking skills

education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in broadcast production required
