position summary:

This is a full-time, exempt position in the accounting and business management department of Alaska’s largest advertising agency. Spawn has 40 employee-owners and this position is finance first, but has HR benefits support responsibilities as well.

This position will be based in Anchorage, Alaska.

key responsibilities:

  • Monthly financial statement reporting
  • Serve as the main liaison for annual stock price valuation and financial audits
  • Facilitate and oversee monthly billing and accounts receivable
  • Governmental reporting
  • Perform month-end asset and liability reconciliations
  • Process bi-monthly company payroll
  • Provide regular ad hoc financial analyses for various agency measures
  • Assist the CFO in preparing annual company budget and mid-year forecasts
  • Support IT by addressing minor technology questions and issues
  • Participate in office operations including liability insurances, legal contracts, and other miscellaneous initiatives as needed

knowledge and skills:

  • Microsoft Excel –  experience needs to include working with pivot tables, a wide array of functions (VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, etc.), as well as Macros/VBA for Excel
  • Comfortable with operating in multiple systems and combining data in Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Demonstrated speaking and writing skills


  • 3-5 years professional work experience in accounting required
