Hi, my name is Julie and I am the Director of Account Management (AM) here at Spawn Ideas. This means I take care of our clients and the AM Team.

Tell us about the journey that led you to join the Spawn team.

My husband and I came to Alaska for the second time as tourists, visiting friends who had moved here. While we were in Denali – at Polychrome – there wasn’t a human around. I said to my husband, “I need more of this.” He agreed. Within two weeks, he had a job in Anchorage and five months later we moved from Wisconsin. I was very choosy in looking for my next job. When I saw the website I knew I wanted to work here. And luckily – it worked out!

What are you most proud of from your work here at Spawn?

The relationships I’ve gained from working with our awesome clients. I consider many of them friends – and that means so much to me after leaving so many friends behind back home.

What is your idea of success?

A happy client! And ideas that have helped move their business forward and made our clients’ jobs just a little bit easier.

My other measure of success is a fulfilled team. The AM Team is a brilliant group of women – I am blessed to get to work with them. They keep me sane, challenged and young!

What’s the best advice you were ever given, and who was it from?

I was really worried about a mistake I had made a job early in my career. My boss at the time (still a good friend of mine) said to me “No one died from this mistake. Apologize and move on.” It’s so good to put things into perspective – especially when you care so much about work and clients. Invariably a mistake will be made – but everything can be fixed.
