Hi, my name is Charles Leshan and I am the Production Director here at Spawn Ideas, as well as General Manager of Bore Tide One Source – a subsidiary of Spawn.

Tell us about the journey that led you to join the Spawn team.

Shortly after Spawn won the GCI business, Spawn needed an experienced Production Supervisor. The opportunity found its way to me while I was still living in Michigan. A few conversations led to me coming up for a three week “test drive” to see if the opportunity was a mutual fit. Six years later, we’re still going strong.

What are you most proud of from your work here at Spawn?

I take every project to heart, so it’s difficult to say which I’m proud of the most. However, being a trusted source for the team is one, and concepting and developing what has become Bore Tide is noteworthy, right?

What is your idea of success?

Knowing you gave your best effort.

What’s the best advice you were ever given, and who was it from?

“If you’re not going to do it right then don’t do it at all! Because your effort shows.” – My Dad.

Early in my career, giving my “best effort” was not always my top priority. There comes a time when you realize your lack of effort has really disappointed those around you. For me, I still remember that moment, and vowed to always give nothing but my best since.

Finish the sentence: My professional True North is____

Striving for excellence and uniqueness in what is produced. I need to be surrounded by like-minded people (which is why I came to Spawn in the first place).

I love being challenged by a client’s expectations and then proceeding to exceed those expectations.
